Ask our Experts

Sorcha completed her veterinary studies, earning an MVB degree from University College Dublin in 2017. She then dedicated six years to working with horses and small animals in veterinary practices across Melbourne, Australia, and Fermoy in County Cork, nurturing her keen interest in nutrition and research. In 2022, she deepened her expertise by obtaining a Master of Science in Regulatory Affairs, focusing her thesis on the pressing issue of antimicrobial resistance within veterinary medicine.

Currently, Sorcha is a key member of the equine technical support team for our export markets including the Middle East. She is an advocate for preventative healthcare, starting with proper nutrition. Sorcha enjoys exploring the unique nutritional needs of horses in the GCC and applying her veterinary background to advise on the most optimal dietary plans and recommendations for feed and supplements that support any deficiences or performance challenges. She is committed to staying abreast of the latest developments in nutritional science and provides her expertise in the curation of nutritional articles specific to the GCC, where region-specific equine issues and deficiencies such as sand colic and gastric ulcers are common issues for horses in the region.

Sorcha appreciates how her role at Foran Equine and Connolly’s RED MILLS allows her to travel and immerse herself in different equestrian disciplines across the Middle East and Europe.
